A meal at Lima, Fitzrovia

A meal at Lima, Fitzrovia

Pisco Until now, I had refrained from trying one of London’s new south American restaurants such as Ceviche, mostly because I am trying to avoid eating fish altogether.  As my sister @Squadrilla75 was visiting London to be my co-host of the DiscoverCilento Supperclub, we decided to enjoy a nice meal on the Friday night before the dinner, in an effort to distract ourselves from the tasks ahead the next day.  After much deliberation (shall we try the new Moreno at…

A meal at Galvins la Chapelle, City

A meal at Galvins la Chapelle, City

A few weeks ago @bmcboy and I celebrated a special occasion. It took a while to select a restaurant, and in the end we picked Galvins la Chapelle. We had never been before, it looked like a beautiful venue and the food reviews seemed to be positive.  Indeed, the venue is stunning, a former chapel with large windows and stone column, and a mezzanine floating mid room, with the open plan kitchen underneath. ***this restaurant has since closed down*** Some three months ago someone mentioned Dabbous. I knew nothing about it but how could I resist booking a table at what looked like a really interesting place to visit? So I opted the first available date, for a far away day in May. What seemed ages away quickly arrived and by now, Dabbous had been visited by worthy critics and fellow bloggers, and the expectations were mounting. Reservations were as coveted as a…

A meal at North Road, Clerkenwell

A meal at North Road, Clerkenwell

***this restaurant has since closed down*** When I met Ben Spalding for my badly timed article for Identita’ Golose, he mentioned Viajante and North Road as places in London where one could find a similar philosophy to Roganic’s in the kitchen. I was intrigued as I did not know anything about North Road and decided to book a table for dinner. The venue is quite stark, elegant and on a Friday evening, only barely half full. It always makes me…
